“Who has ascended up into heaven, and descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son’s name, if you know?”

- Mishle / Proverbs 30:4

Mission Statement
Y knot J is a concept, contrived in hope to transform the current misconception we all have (or have had at one time) regarding the true names of our Elohim and Messiah.

Y knot J seeks to pose to you this simple, rhetorical question and answer session.

Q.Why not J?
A.Y, not J.

In factual terms, "Y knot J" means something like this:

Yahuweh not Jehovah. Yahushua not Jesus. Yisraelites not Jews.

Y Knot J desires to emphasize that, although the forms YHWH (for the Elohim of Yisrael), and YAHUSHUA (for the Messiah) are favored on this website, we acknowledge most of the other accepted forms. We believe that we should not be dogmatic, since all the various forms which are so dogmatically insisted upon by various interpreters, are merely transliterations of the original Hebrew- which after all, is the only true and exact name. All the various forms which are presented by Sacred name promoters and which are the cause of so much confusion, are proposed in earnest endeavors to proclaim the Biblical Sacred names. This process of representing a word or a name in a different language is called "transliteration".

“I will declare Your Name (YHWH / Yahushua) to my brethren: in the midst of the congregation I will praise you.”

- Psalms 22:22 (KJVA)

Meat, not Milk!
Baal, the great sky deity, was first called Baal-Gad and was the Babylonian god of good fortune and luck. Thus was born the English "Lord-God". Does that sound familiar? It should! Most English translations substitute Lord-God for YHWH.
In Isaiah 65:11, the Creator manifests His utter disgust and contempt for anyone who would knowingly practice this Babylonian custom, by condemning those who practice ineffability as having forsaken YHWH and having gone whoring after paganism. That is the attitude of YHWH towards the religionist's tendency to misuse, mask, substitute or practice avoidance of His Set Apart name.

“Who has ascended up into heaven, and descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son’s name, if you know?”

- Proverbs 30:4

Yahushua is the Son of YHWH.

“All men should honor the Son (Yahushua) just as they honor the Father (YHWH). He who does not honor the Son (Yahushua) does not the Father (YHWH) who sent Him.”

- John 5:23

Lost in translation.
We have therefore replaced the titles of our Creator and His Son with their true Hebrew names. Any place in the Bible where you see LORD or GOD in caps is a place the proper name of YHWH has been replaced with a title belonging to a pagan object of worship. Our Savior was born a Hebrew of the tribe of Judah; He had a Hebrew name: Yahushua.

"Yah" is the shortened form of YHWH (the name of the Father).
"Shua" means strength or savior.

The name of our Messiah, Yahushua, literally means "YHWH saves". A group of unbelieving Jews, however, mutilated His name to "Yeshu", which is an acronym meaning "may His name and memory be blotted out". What a huge difference a small variance of letters can make!

When translated into Greek the letter "Y" became an "I". Iahushua
The "SH" was lost. Iasuah
"OU" was an attempt to transliterate the OO sound of the Hebrew letter "Waw". Iasouh
an "S" was added to the end to make it a masculinized rendition. Iasous

And they ended with "Iesous" as the Greek translation of Yahushua. Going to Latin...

The "OU" became a "U". Iesus
When the letter "J" was introduced, the "I" became a "J". Jesus

So the Jews got their desire and Yahushua's name has been hidden from the masses for centuries. As we have studied we have found the reason behind Judah's refusal to use YHWH's name, and here it is:

“Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the YHWH, all Judah who are in the land of Egypt: Thus saith YHWH of hosts, the Almighty of Israel, saying:
“You and your wives have spoken with your mouths and fulfilled with your hands, saying, 'We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her:' you will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.”
Therefore hear the word of YHWH, all Judah who dwell in the land of Egypt;
“Behold, I have sworn by My great name.”
saith YHWH,
“That My name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, 'The Almighty YHWH lives'.”

- Jeremiah 44:24-26 (KJVA)

What's in a name?
This will provide evidence that the word "Name" not only means "character and reputation", but also refers to a literal written and spoken name.
This is the definition of the Hebrew word "shem" which is translated as "name" all throughout Scripture.

Strong's #8034 'Shem'; "A primitive word [perhaps rather from 7760 through the idea of definite and conspicious position; compare 8064]; an appelation, as a mark or memorial of individuality; by implication honor, authority, character: -+base, [in-] fame[-ous], name[-d], renown, report."

As you can see from the above definition, YHWH's name not only represents His character but the Name YHWH is also HIS MARK! What is a mark but something that is written? The name YHWH also is His memorial of individuality. This definition goes hand in hand with Scripture:

“And Elohim said moreover unto Moses, “Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, YHWH Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac, and the Elohim of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is My name for ever, and this is My memorial unto all generations.”

- Exodus 3:15 (KJV)

Man has set up many memorials for himself, for instance, "The Unknown Soldier" or "The Wall". Can you imagine the punishment one would receive if someone had gone up and destroyed one of these memorials? Now if we wouldn't desecrate one of man's memorials, then why would anyone want to desecrate YHWH's memorial- His Name!? We do not have the right to change His name to whatever we want to call Him.

“Holy abba, protect them by the power of Your name- the name You gave me- so that they may be one, as we are One.”

- John 17:11

“I write to you dear children, because you have been forgiven on account of His name.”

- I John 2:12

“Therefore Elohim exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name. Every knee should bow, in heaven and on the earth, and under the earth, and every tongue shall confess that Yahushua the Messiah is YHWH, to the glory of Abba.”

- Philippians 2:9-11
